The intel boost option in the audio engine looked really interesting! Is that a new feature?

Go to 40:27 of the hdx engine video stream. There's an option for Intel Turbo Boost on the engine panel.

Someone asked about that in the chat during that scene. An Avid rep replied that they weren't supposed to talk about that yet.

Still, definitely interesting. Even if it makes your fans whir like mad, it's nice to have the option.

No there's nothing at that time stamp. I think you mean 48:07, which is where the "playback engine" window shows.

I think it's an option to turn the build-in Intel Turbo Boost, available on i5 or i7 CPU's, on or off. With Turbo Boost enabled on the i5 / i7 runs faster, but also the fan noise increases a lot and on a MacBook the battery drains must faster.
For example; on my Mac Mini 2018 I have a third party software solution to put Turbo Boost off, otherwise the Mac Mini is very loud and practically unusable because it's standing next to me on my desk.
It seems with this option I don't need that third party software solution anymore.

Yeah I think it basically turns it off by default with an option to enable it. As opposed the way it works now where you need a 3rd party app to turn it off.
I have an 8core i9 MBP and the fans are extremely loud without the little app that turns of Turbo

Interesting and that would great, because my iMac can be quite loud when fans are max . Although that usually only happens when I render video
