Default emulating a favorite reverb?

Can anyone suggest the best way to try to emulate a favorite reverb? I have been using a t.c. electronic VSS4 reverb on a Reverb4000. It's great for stereo passes but when stemming out sections (ww, brass, perc, strings, choir etc.) it's important to have separate reverbs that can go with the stems.

Anyone have a suggestion about one of the AIR reverbs or the D-verb to get a similar sound, and how to go about it?

I've tried with the AIR Reverb (RTAS) and, with the settings matched as much as I can, it's reasonably close, reasonably nice-sounding.

Any suggestions about improvements would be welcome.

Do you have TL Space or any other IR convolver? If so, http://rhythminmind.net/1313/?p=514

Thanks for the suggestion. I don't have anything extra to work with right now; I just bought an HD 2 setup, which comes with the D-verb and the three AIR verbs for plug-ins. And I have one hardware tc electronic reverb.

I was holding off looking at additional plug-ins for a bit. I wanted to make sure everything was fine with PT before introducing more wrinkles.

I am positively disposed toward what I've heard of the UAD reverbs, the plate 140 and the EMT 250, but again I'd love to get the tc sound out of the AIR if that's possible.

Try getting in touch with EJ and see if he has any TL Space licenses laying around. You can probably pick it up inexpensively and it's a great reverb.

thanks -- I'll see if I can find him. I assume he's a regular and some kind of rep or dealer if he has that sort of trial thing? I am new here.

Look up Dutchmuzik on google. He's a known quantity around here. He sells used licenses for great prices. You can get TL Space for way under $100.

Don't overlook Liquidsonics Reverberate. Very deep IR control and dirt cheap. And I think they give you a pretty generous reverb library as well. Works flawlessly on my IR libraries.
