Default PT 9 Crashed and I lost the session- Any way to recover it?

After I recorded a session last night PT 9 crashed on my MacBook Pro.
I think the error message said something like "PT 9 closed unexpectedly".
I re-started PT, but the session I recorded (a new file) was gone.
Is there any way to recover the lost file?
I've got the preferences set to backup every 5 minutes, and I thought that meant my file was 'saved' every 5 minutes.
Note to self: always 'save' file upon completion of a good 'take'.
Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Check your Session File Backups folder for the Project. The most recent one should be time stamped shortly before you crashed. It's saved me many times.

Sadly, the file doesn't even appear in the file list.

Check the "audio" folder at the OS drive level and see if it is there... Shld be timed stamped. If it is and you suspect the session is currupt, create a new one and import tracks. If the new track doesn't exist which is quite possible, then you can try to import the audio IF the take is in the folder as mentioned above. If it isn't in the folder to begin with, then it's time for a new take ma fren. Save early and often is still in play just as it ever was. Don't stress tho, it's happened to us all and it will again.

Are you sure you are looking in the Session File Backups folder? Is there anything in that folder? Does that folder exist? Are you sure that you are looking in the right place?
have you done a search for the session's name?
If you had auto backup on... they are there....... somewhere, ff

Are you referring here to the session file or the audio file you recorded. If you had yor prefs set to back up, then the session file (whatever you named your session) will be in the auto backup Folder. The audio file will be in the audio files folder of the session folder. It will be named by whatever you named the track you recorded on.
