Default Source Nexus Alternative

Hi,

Is there an alternative to Source Nexus to route audio in and out of PT via a plug-in whilst using the HDX audio driver?

Thanks

Ben

Sadly no. With HDX your options are either to run a secondary physical core audio device with optical or analog In/Out through your I/O, or pony up for Source Nexus. The new version with control panel included is great, but it's a pretty steep price point.

It's just become essential in these days with zoom, google meet, source connect, IPDTL and others having to integrate into our workflows.

I'm amazed more plugin builders haven't made a Source Nexus equivalent.
Izotope probably have 90% of the code available with the RX Monitor.

Depending on how many channels you need, I found a decent workaround that I hope doesn't get shut down when figured out.

At least with the original version of SessionWire, you could use the routing as in/out to any audio program. There's stereo in/out and mono talkback in/out (if I remember correctly).

I tried all sorts of other ways to do it but in the end, and somewhat reluctantly I have to admit, paid for the new version of Nexus. Works perfectly as you'd expect.

I'm also surprised that nobody else has released a competing internal router - maybe it's harder than it looks?

Yeesh...

That might be if you use their actual services with person-to-person communication (like Source Connect). If you run the installer, the plug-ins are still there and allow system audio routing through their connections. At least that's what happened for me. Look at the "to" and "from" options.
