Default Wireless Talkback ?

Not sure where to post this....
I have recently found a really nice momentary switch that fits perfectly into the shell of a Neutrik male XLR connector, and I'm using it as a talkback remote switch - actually, it's for producers directing voice talent.
Anyway, I thought it would be uber-cool if the switch could be wireless. I look around at things like wireless doorbells and remote keyless entry fobs for cars....how hard could it be?
Anyone out there have some advice on how this might work?

Thanks in advance...

Hey Evilg, where'd you find that switch? I built a small enclosure for this very purpose, but I'm not too happy with its ergonomics...your idea sounds cool.

I built one many many years ago using the electronics from those micro R/C cars.

Hey Andre...
If you're looking to make a wired version of the talkback, all you need is the male XLR with the pins removed, and this switch:

http://www.mode-elec.com/Products/Pr...ush_button.pdf

Look at the top right hand corner there, part numbers 44-530-0, available in red, black, or white.

Mode electronics make lots of switches and adapters, etc. and most electronic parts retailers will have these in stock - if not, then I have seen the EXACT same switch from other manufacturers. This switch is a PERFECT fit for an XLR connector.

I have found something that might work for the wireless part of this project from a company called Reynolds Electronics:

http://www.rentron.com/IR-DX8.htm

This is an IC that functions as an RF transmitter AND receiver....most notably, it would also probably fit into the XLR unit, maybe with a small screw-on barrel added to the XLR connector to house the power (watch batteries?) and the circuit.
I have not ordered this chip yet - I don't really know how to design a circuit that could use this IC.
