Projects Will Not Open

I purchased a new PC after Pro Tools First stopped working on my 12 year old laptop. I downloaded the most recent version and tried to run it on my new PC. The program opens, but when I try to run a project it sends up the message:


"____" cannot be opened. The latest version of the project may have been uploaded by a newer version of Pro Tools. Please install any available updates and try again"




I've already installed the latest version. I've uninstalled the program from my laptop, deactivated the laptop version of my iLok license, and checked my Avid account. Everything is in order.


When I try to start a project using a template, nothing happens. When I restart the program the project is listed as existing, but will no open. Instead, the message comes up:

" Funk (for example) cannot be opened. The latest version of the project may have been uploaded by a newer version of Pro Tools. Please install any available updates and try again."



The closest I've gotten was in trying create a new project without the template. In this event, a project screen comes up for (literally) a second before the program shuts down. When I try to reopen said project, the same message comes up saying it cannot be opened. I have tried this multiple times with the same result.



Any advice would be most appreciated.

“ new PC” doesn’t mean a thing. We need detailed system specs to be able to help. Follow the “help is help you” link at the top of the page. You haven’t even told us precisely what version of Pro Tools you’re trying to run.
