Default ...mute before audio starts...

....every first second after I hit play gets 'chopped off', as if the head of the region is missing.... So I'm not talking latency or delay (buffers) but an actual mute.
If I play and stop and press play again quickly, there's audio straight away. So it is something buffer related, so it seems, but changing the HW-setup didn't change a thing....

Running 5.1 001 on a G4 350 w. 448 mb memory
Memory cache set to 512.

I also posted this in the 'correct' forum, but I' m afraid it gets lost between 'how can I get that Cher-effect' or 'house music on the 001'......
