Playback Engine Issue (Won’t load session with chosen playback engine)

Hello.

I had an error regarding creating a new document. Somebody on here told me to switch the default playback engine. This seemed to work, except now I’m getting an error saying that it does not support a 44.1 sample rate when trying to open a session.

While this was a tad confusing, I simply switched the default back to built-in output and then opened the session and the session opened fine. I then switched the playback engine to my interface (M-Audio MBox Mini) and it reopened fine and played back fine.

However I seem to have to redo this process everytime I open up any session. Everything seems to be working fine, but I have to go this round-a-bout way of getting into a session every time.

Does this sound like a familiar problem to anybody?
