This update has not resolved my problems. The CoreAudio driver went from intermittently finding my MBox to NEVER finding it. Restarts, shutdowns, multiple connects/disconnects have not caused any variation in this behavior.

My hardware is a PowerBook G4 1Ghz 12" running Mac OS X 10.4.1, 768 megs of RAM.

Mac OS 10.4.2 was officially qualified yesterday with all HD & LE systems:
http://www.digidesign.com/compato/changes/

You could try updating to that and the most recent version of QuickTime to see if that makes any difference. (I'm not a tech, that's about all I can offer)

In any case, please let us know if that makes any difference in your situation.

Same for me, this update hasn't solved my problem either. The main problem I'm having is playback distortion (clicks and pops) and the picture distorts sometimes also while using Virtual PC 7.0.2 (the latest version for Tiger 10.4) for a short amount of time. I have no idea what is causing this problem but it's most likely CoreAudio. Hopefully the standalone CoreAudio will fix this problem???

Has there been any changes made to the upgrade prior to it's initiall release? From what this current forum is saying, the new 6.9.2c2 hasn't changed anything. Before I download an un-qualified update I'd like to know of any success on it.

Evandude - I'm not quite sure what you're asking/saying. There were several revisions made in the CS2 update to Pro Tools LE 6.9.2.

What's Fixed in Pro Tools LE 6.9.2cs2?

Pro Tools LE 6.9.2cs2 for Mac OS X 10.4 contains the following:

Fixed: CoreAudio Did Not Function Properly With Many Third-Party Applications (Item #63500)

Which applications are clicking or popping? Have you tried increasing the HW Buffer Size in the Core Audio Manager application?

As for the issue with picture distortion in Virtual PC - what makes you think this is Core Audio related? Keep in mind that Virtual PC has not been tested with Core Audio, so there may be issues that we're unaware of.

I'm still slightly confused on the isse of the Core Audio Driver.

Does this release mean there is a stand alone Core Audio Driver that will work with Tiger 10.4.2?
