Using the Carbon with a Townsend/UA L22?

Does anyone have experience with this combo? If so, what are they? Latency?

Yes, I have one L22.

The Townsend (now UA) plugin works in AAX-DSP mode.

Latency at 96KHz reports as 48 samples in Native mode and 58 samples in DSP mode.
Bear in mind that Avid's own Channel Strip reports 0 in Native mode and 10 in DSP mode, but their own measurement is 48 samples. This equates to 0.5ms.

This is where my understanding gets hazy - I think this means you can add ~0.4ms to any plugin based on the core latency. [Avid's measurements say 36 samples with no plugins, meaning 0.38ms]. This would make the L22 have about 0.9-1.0 ms latency at 96KHz in DSP mode (with nothing else in the chain). Results at 44.1/48 are up to twice as long, as you might expect. I do everything at 96KHz.

Subjectively, as a vocalist, it's pretty good. Conspicuously better than any native interface I've tried, including RME. Still not quite the same as using an all-analog path.

Ah yes the old "Buy in quantity to save more " theory where $10k is somehow saving over $499 ? . BTW I have some future beach front property in Wyoming for sale
