midi looping issue w/ structure LE

having an issue when playback involves a midi loop in structure le and an audio track. basically, if i stop anywhere in the middle of a track and hit play again, the beat always plays from the beginning of the measure for the loop, throwing everything off sequence for the whole track. i noticed i have to start playing the track from the beginning for everything to be in perfect synchronization again. is there something i may have overlooked in the midi settings to fix this?
