Missing Filenames in Region List

One of our engineers went to select unused regions and delete them, and found that there was nothing in his audio regions list, and the "select unused regions" command was greyed out. When you "find" something like "hat", you get all the hat files and nothing else. When you "find" something else, the "hat" filenames disappear.

We can select unused regions after finding "hat," "kick", etc. But this takes a while.

This session is on 5.1.1 with Mac OS 9.2. We recently upgraded from a G4/400 running 9.1 to a Mac G4/800 running 9.2 and he says it's only happened since then.

Incedentally, all three songs it is happeneing to have had every drum hit edited and then consolidated, but no files have been removed from the session or drive. Is it possible that there are too many files in the audio files folder so Pro Tools is not displaying them all?

Check the "Display auto-created regions" under the "Display" menu. This preference is designed to potentially shorten the list of files in the region list by not showing by-product regions.
