Default Pro Tools Times Out Trying to Stop

After updating my system to the newest 12.8.3 version of Pro Tools, I am now getting an error message saying "Pro Tools timed out trying to stop." I use Pro Tools in conjunction with a Focusrite 18i8 2nd Gen interface and I also have a UAD-2 Satellite. When this error occurs, I get no playback but I can still click around within Pro Tools.

My first hunch is that the interface is not communicating properly with the DAW since Focusrite hasn't released a coinciding software update for the newest version of Pro Tools. I uninstalled and then reinstalled the Focusrite Control software and it did not fix the issue.

Anyone else experience anything similar or have a fix?

thx, J

1) any firmware updates for the Focusrite that might help this
2) unplug the UAD satellite and see if that helps

Thanks John. I've reset the satellite a few times and it looks like the last firmware update from Focusrite was pushed out about 6 months ago. May be a waiting game here for awhile. In the middle of current project nonetheless!

Yes it still does it. I notice that if power cycle the Focusrite, shut down pro tools and reboot that it will work for a few minutes and then give me the same error message again after a short while.

A quick update on this. I did forget to mention that I also use Addictive Drums 2. When removing the use of this and restarting the Pro Tools software, I was able to get some work done last night. Checked for a software update from XLN and there isn't one. Not 100 percent sure this was the only issue, but it seems to work better now.

That I am not sure about. There is an external software that runs simultaneously along side ProTools but there is no hardware piece for certain.
