Default Standalone Audio Editor

Anyone know of a good, cheap standalone audio editor that I won't have to have an interface plugged in to use? I used to have Windows XP and I used Adobe Audition, and that had a great mp3 codec, but now that I have a Mac I have no idea what software to use.

I'll mostly be using it to convert between WAV, MP3, and AIFF files, and batch processing would be a great feature. Also, the cheaper the better lol, as long as the mp3 codec is good.

Yeah but Switch(Which I use btw on my PC) is not for Mac. I use Audacity on my Mac. It's free!

You might take a look at SampleManager which is also known for pristine SRC:

BIAS Peak will do the job as well. Also, If you can wait a bit, Adobe is going to release a Mac version of Audition sometime in 2011.

iTunes. If you don't like the mp3 codec, check out the iTunes-LAME Encoder

A few Options:

• Twisted Wave
• Bias Peak
• DSP Quattro

• Sound Studio 3
• Audacity
• Wave Editor
• Amadeus Pro

With the first 3 you can INSERT Plug-ins in Real time, the other 4 it's only the equivalent of AS - process only.

Peak, and Switch (which does work on Macs), even iTunes just for MP3 conversions.
