Noise Gate Quality Differences?

Hello everyone.

Just starting to learn about, appreciate and utilize noise gates.

I have a couple (Waves & Izotope)

Not sure if I have enough experience to tell if there is an audible difference yet when using either of these.

So far, been experimenting with a gate on the bass - sidechaining it to a kick drum

Is there any merit to spending money on something else - and if so - any recommendations?

Big difference in how fast the gate opens. Sonnox Dynamics is good in this, but even that is not as good as Drawmer and Serato gates of TDM, those were amazing. Avid Pro plugins are not bad either.
