Default Protools 2022.4 buggy

I'd hesitate before updating. It broke my system and took tech support 2 hours this morning to get working 'after a fashion'. The new version is very flawed; just selecting a bunch of tracks caused a crash, routing folders are a nightmare with consistent crashing although if you think small and add tracks a few at a time it's generally better. Importing session data causes crashes. The graphics have gone slow and draggy. The previous version was solid but trying to revert to it was impossible. (although I now know that was probably Avid Link). I even updated Mac OS 11 to 12...no change.

Not a great advert for the new subscription setup!!

I had LOTS of problems too. I even uninstalled and fresh installed a couple of times hoping that would help but it was always the same. Ton's of freezes (that usually woke back up), slow draggy graphics/GUI, Massive unusable latency on VI's regardless of buffer/cache size, Video engine errors, and system usage was pegged at 100% regardless of session size. loads of fun this update was lol!

Basically unusable for me in every regard. I went back to a previous version and am thankfully back up and running. I think I'll postpone any "updates" until they include Native M1 support. Until then, what is the point exactly?

well I pressed download on it , then thought I would look here

is your sig up to date? that machine may be a bit long in the tooth?

so you managed to roll back ok in the end? I think I still have the installer for 2021.12

I'm on 12.3 monteray and there are a few issues with 21.12 but on the whole able to work all day on it.
