PT in educational setups - Open Directory and LDAP
We have an educational setup where all PT logins to Computers are streamlined, provided via an OSX server
via Open Directory and LDAP. Works a treat! Now, There is a great function on OSX server where you can hide servers from a user. Works great and essential for our scenario... _but_ all those hidden volumes show up in Workspace, thus rendering this functionality useless and providing a serious security hole that we don't know how to fix.... Anyone has a workaround? We actually don't use Workspace at all, and would not mind if it could be completely hidden with a pref or hack that needs admin access. Any chance for a fix or workaround? We are still on 6.9.3... best Janne A. |

Re: PT with Open Directory and LDAP
just a bump...
Any people in educational largish networked scenarios that care to discuss how to secure systems for students not breaking, installing or knicking stuff? Our students can do anything they want in PT, which is the point...but I don't want them to be able to for example copy sfx or templates that are stored on the network. Ah well, any feedback is appreciated best jtm |
