So, do your GPUs only need one of the mini 6 pin PCie power ports? My Radeon needs two, and I’m trying to figure out how to make that work with the HDX taking one. Thanks!!

My Radeon RX 560(MSI) don’t requires any power. Only the PCI Express connection.

It’s really just a case of looking at the power consumption specs of your specific GPU, and calculating how much power you really need to power the stuff. The wattage provided by 6-pin and 8-pin pcie aux power is standardised (can’t remember the exact spec, but it’s easily googleable). An HDX card only needs something like 40watts.

Powering options are 1x6 pin to 2x 6-pin splitters, 4 pin molex to 6-pin to use the power in the 5.25” driver bay, or even Sata to 6-pin to use the power from a spare hard drive slot. The cable you need really depends on how much power your GPU plus HDX card draws. Pay close attention to the male/female orientation of cables. It’s a bit of a minefield.
