6.0.1 updater problem

I've downloaded the protools 6 update.(6.0.1)
I'm running OS 10.2.3 with a digi001
My problem is that soon as I click install the progress bar only makes it a little ways and gets stuck on "searching my drive" it says 134 items remaining and it just stays there as the mouse arrow spins around. I've left this for a good three hours seeing if it would work itself out but it doesn't and it forces me to restart.
I've just updated to 10.2.4 (which i didn't want to do)
And that didn't solve anything either. I've also tried disk copying the mounted disk and then installing and that didn't work either. I've also tried dragging the files out of the mounted drive onto the desktop and then tried installing from there but no luck with that either.
Any help would be appreciated!

How did you download...Sounds like the download is corrupted...Try it again...19MB...

I don't think that there is anyway that the download is corrupted if the installer launches at all. But just in case, I put an alternative download up of the same .dmg file further encoded as a .dmg.bin format file. The installers inside the disk image are identical, though.

I would look at using your OS X Disk Utility -> First Aid-> Repair Permissions as something to try before running the updater. You should always do that anyway after updating your OS, as stated on the bottom of this page:

Also, remove or unmount any extra drives and peripherals, to reduce the places your updater is looking to just the startup drive, then run the updater.

Hello again.
Ok this has been a frustrating day so far.
I ran disk utility repair first aid.
Everything checks out.
I downloaded the other version and I think your right about there being no corruption in the file since it does the same thing. Still hangs up on 134 items left to install. How long should installing an update take??
Surely not longer than a few minutes. Anyway same problem is happening.
Any other suggestions?

Try uninstalling the whole protools 6 and do a fresh reinstall

Unauthorized? no.
dp 800mghz 768mb ram
80gb drive with a super drive.
geforce card. Everything checks out.
The software I'm running is fine.
Nothing unauthorized.
Anything else?
