Default Heat Plug-in

Noticed that my heat plug expired. I thought that was part of my ProTools subscription?

Mine stopped working in the middle of a session yesterday not because it expired but the avid iLok cloud is no longer available. Where it’s registered to… I am amazed not more people are reporting this issue

Both Perpetual and Subscription licenses with an Active Plan are still eligible:

Q: Who is eligible for the Avid Complete Plug-in Bundle and HEAT?
A: Since October of 2021, customers who have an active Pro Tools Subscription or Pro Tools | Ultimate Subscription are eligible as well as Pro Tools & Pro Tools | Ultimate Perpetual customers with active Software Updates + Support Plan.


Check “Available Licenses” in the latest version of iLok License Manager
If necessary, drag license to your iLok, right-click on it and select “Synchronize

You may need to close an iLok Cloud Session:

Q: Why can't I move my license from iLok Cloud to my iLok?
A: If a Cloud Session is currently open, you will need to Close Your Cloud Session or switch to Managed Mode to then activate the licenses to physical iLoks. If using Automatic Mode, a new Cloud Session can be opened after activating licenses to iLoks to then allocate the remaining available licenses to iLok Cloud.

There was a maintenance down period yesterday that have been notified for a couple of weeks. I suppose it has to do with their new version 5.5 with Mac M1 native support. Might be what you experienced.

I just tried again, still not working. I had my machine shut off, rebooted, no session open. License shows as active in ILok Manager but will not load in PT and I cannot deactivate the cloud one in order to set to the dongle.

fwiw - synchronize your iLok, every time after you add a new plug-in, and, every time after you hit the "Refresh" button on your iLok ZDT

I just figured out my issue as well... not the cause but how to fix it:

After more reading on the Ilok site, I had to open a Cloud Session in the iLok Manager (File Menu), Once opened I was able to Deactivate my Cloud license and then I was able to assign it to my local iLok key and now it's working again.

What in the universe caused this to happen to begin with especially in the middle of a recording session is infuriating to be honest. But at least I got my system working again

Honestly this is why iLok Cloud is hot garbage and should be avoided at all costs. Avid, please let us authorize PT and all dependencies directly to computer so we can free ourselves from the whims of flaky internet. Until then, it's the dongle life for me.
