Default What is it with PT 12 and re-linking?!

I'm about to lose my mind. I've got a session that can't find and re-link audio files. No big deal, right? Happens all the time, manually re-link. No biggie. But this session has me pulling my hair out.

When I open up the Workspace to re-link, the actual file path shown for each inactive audio file is, in fact, completely correct. The session is looking in the correct folder and can't find the damn files. Even attempting to manually re-link, searching ONLY the correct directory doesn't work.

PT 12.2.1, Yosemite, FileVault Off.

I've tried opening the session from my local drive as well as external drives. Workspace always shows correct path, PT still WILL NOT re-link the damn files.

What am I missing?

Default Re: What is it with PT 12 and re-linking?!

I've had this problem with omf files on PC. Incredibly frustrating. In the end I had to manually search each file to relink it. I believe it's something to do with the missing clip names being different to the actually audio file names. In the audio files folder the names will be whatever they were named originally but Pro Tools gives them it's own ID. Still not a 100% sure what the issue is but it's something like that.

If you look in the clip list and look at the ID of the missing file, then visually identify it in the audio files folder via relink dialogue box, click on it and it should relink. It's painfully time consuming but works.

Default Re: WTF is with PT 12 and re-linking?!

I can't even re-link manually! It won't find any candidates, let alone allow me to re-link them. Even more annoying: the unique IDs are the same and it STILL won't identify the correct file as a candidate.

Am I forgetting a step somewhere?
