Default zipper noise and plug in tone

I am using an HD3 system. While mixing and editing a recording (24-bit/96kHz) I noticed an odd thing while doing some fades. I could hear modulated zipper noise. Has anyone else had that problem?

Also, I have noticed that when I insert Digi's D-Verb and other plugs, I perceive a drop in amplitude and tone. Any thoughts?

I haven't experienced the zipper noise on faders, but I have experienced the signal drop and reduced tone with some plug-ins.

That is odd. Now, the fades that I am talking about are those that I make in the edit screen. I am not talking about fader moves.

Somethings wrong there, how bad is the zipper noise ? Aprox' -50,-20 or -10 dBfs ?

Have you trashed you DAE (and Protools) preferences yet ?

Yes I trashed the preferences. The modulated zipper noise I have determined to be a result of editing while soloing a channel with a Pitch doctor plug-in inserted. So, whatever zipper noise that there was, was effected by the plug in, causing the other garbage that I heard.

I would still like to be zipper noise free.

Are you dithering your fades in the Edit window?
