Default 800 min Bounce to disk for 4 min song?

This is the strangest thing I've seen yet. This is on a friends rig by the way.

When he bounces to disk, the bounce clock that counts down backwards reads 800+ minutes for a 3-4 minute song. The region is highlighted so the bounce should'nt go past that end point, but it does. A 60 second highlighted region is a 600+ minute countdown. The numbers are random.

This happened when he upgraded his 9600 to 9.1. I told him that he probably needs to reinstall his system and apps. Has anyone ever seen this?

Polyorchid,
Make sure the "Link timeline select
and edit select" button is enabled.
It's on the upper left of the Edit
window, to the right of the "a...z"
button and under the Grid button.
It's the one with the arrows pointing
up and down.
If this is not enabled, your bounce
will be the entire length of the
session, or the length of the timeline
select.

He ended up trashing the prefs and everything was cool. Thanks again.

Sorry for the multiple posts.

I disengaged the link timeline/edit button on my rig to see if it would give the same result. At first I had a error-1309, but at the second attempt it bounced fine, I guess it was a prefs issue after all.
