Avid Scorch news

Today, we made the decision to remove Avid Scorch from the Apple App Store. Existing users will continue to be able to access the app, and reinstall if needed, however new users will not be able to purchase it from the App Store.

While Apple has been making great strides in upgrading iPadOS, the Avid Scorch app has become too old to maintain. The in-app store will be closing soon too, so users won't be able to buy and download any new music nor redownload previously bought scores.

For those of you who have bought the app and scores over the years, we thank you for your support.

Hi sam, having downloaded sibelius onto my ipad, is there a way to see all the sibelius files ive already downloaded onto my ipad in scorch or is it a case of deleting scorch and downloading again but this time into sibelius?

Hi Fraser,

Scorch's files are sandboxed inside the app, without any way to open them in Sibelius directly from there. You'll need to plug your iPad into your computer and use iTunes (or similar) to save the files to your computer, where you can use iCloud/Dropbox/OneDrive to then sync across to you iPad. Sibelius will then be able to open those files for you to play back, edit and arrange.

This will only work with the Sibelius files (.sib) and not the content you bought or downloaded from Scorch's in-app store.
