Default Off Topic: To Kris Whitten (DH Max card)

Hi Kris, I read something you wrote in a previous post about the DH Max AGP video card. I did some research on Promax Website and on french distributor websites. I definitivily wish to buy it; that's exactly what I'm looking for. My problem is price related...The Us price (on Promax.com )is 299$ (fair enough in my opinion) but in France ...!!!!...since there's only one distributor here, the guy has lost is mind and asks for more than 500$!
So here's my question: do you know a website where I could buy it?
Thanks in advance for the time (if you find some...).

Mr. T,

I have a solution for you. Call 1-888-258-2622 (usa number)
this is ClubMac in Irvine, CA
been in business for over 15 years.
I used to work there, my little brother does still and my besty friend. YOu will get a recording when you call , type in Extension 4267.

this will connect you with Ron O. I grew up with him, tell him I sent you. He has a special price for you that should offset some of the shipping cost.

And BTW anyone on this forum that wants good deals on mac stuff CALL RON. CALL RON LAST. IF HE CAN"T BEAT THE PRICES YOU GET NO ONE CAN.

My way of showing you all my gratitude for all of your help!!!!!!

Kris

Thanks guys!

Kris, my only worry is am I gonna be able to make myself understand through the phone on a technical issue like this one (remember I'm a French Frog...)? Ordering the card shouldn't be too hard but the shipping arrangements...
The good thing about the Web is you can take the time to "find your words" before writing and thus be sure to be understood (at least a little...).

Anyway thanks a lot for the offer, I'll think about it (maybe I could just write to him or something?...Don't they have a website with personnal email?...).
See you.

Mr. T

Installation of the card is pretty easy....... You pop in the drivers, turn off the machine, open it, swap the card in , and reboot. If you can install an 001, you can do the card!!!!!!

ClubMac has lots of international customers, and shipping isn't really a problem for them. I have shipped stuff (when I worked there) all over the world. And Ron should be able to do the card for app. 270.00 which would save you a few bucks to help cover the shipping.

Email him at...............

[email protected]

And let me know what I can do to help......

P.S. thanks Park. We live pretty close to each other, eh? (I live in H.B.)

Installation is definitively not a problem Kris, I'm a long time Mac installer and user !! (re-reading my post, I don't know what could have made you believe it was...).
Anyway thanks for the new infos ,email address and THANKS FOR THE PRICE !! (nice one!...).
I'm definitively gonna buy it.
Thanks again!

Upon reading this sentence, I thought you meant "technical issue" as in installation. After re reading it I understand you now......... The only french Ron knows is Bread., toast, and fries...............

Good luck Mr. T !!!

Not Ron. Last night we had a beach bonfire, and had a few bottles of grape juice............Ron brought a 12 pack of Miller Lite. In a can no less

O.K. so maybe he was trying to not bring glass to the beach, and when we are not at the beach Ron is usually drinking any beer from amsterdam. We have a real affinity for Amsterdam
