Re: If you have a perpetual License
If one is prone to forget to renew the annual support plan, it may not be a bad idea to turn on automatic renewal. You can always turn it off if you make a conscious decision to not renew or want to manually renew when the time comes. With this sitting, the grace period is not an issue. If you are now on a subscription due to the lapse, see if that works for you. If not, look into the reinstatement (get current) product while it is still available to get back on a perpetual/support plan.

Re: If you have a perpetual License
I remembered that I hadn't come back to this thread so I wanted to just pop back in.
@Obsidian Dragon, that would be a very trouble free route A lot of people seemed to misread this as me blaming Avid when it was simply a warning to others to be more aware of how you deal with your perpetual. I go all the way back to PT5 and have no desire to bail on PT because the same way it suited my needs back then it has continued to do so. I guess in todays climate it's easy to think a person is bitchin' about something instead of bringing up a point so I can understand why others might have seen it that way.

Re: If you have a perpetual License
That really is a bummer and I'm sorry that happened. Avid are notorious for being very militant in their policies to the point where some people have switched daws. I've been on the brink with doing something as drastic as that then figured I'm just to bloody old and not motivated enough to lean a whole new daw.
I think most daws now have the ability to create your own custom key commands so we could actually make the switch but in the post world protools is so universal especially out where I'm based I'd be a lone wolf, another reason my angry bird never switched. You'll make up the money at some point and move onward and eventually get that S1. All the best
