Default Hi friends! Any thoughts on Brainworx

I noticed that Plugin Alliance have a christmas tree thingy where each day a new deal on a PA plugin and today is compressor Vertigo VSC-2 and it sounds great but how good are they comapared to say Waves, Sonnox, The Glue, McDsp etc as we are leaving waves and bulking up on single PI's as waves are starting to feel dated ( we only have a few except Gold ) so no biggie to say bye-bye.

So.. What do you think of Brainworx and SPL and the ones that are on sale at Plugin Alliance website?

Thank you in advance as always!
Chris

They're GREAT! (Except their "stereo maker" plug which is not working with PT10 HDX.)

Check out the Maag eq4 as well as the SPL twin tube and transient designer. These are really useful tools for mixing.
Their exciter is interesting too.

If you do mastering, check out the big BX eq and their limiter.

I'm extremely interested in their Rock Rack and it apparently going DSP. Someone, however, on here has posted that the PI's that are out have yet to be fully optimised and are reporting less than stellar numbers per DSP.

It'd be nice if Brainworx could state if they plan further optimisation of the currently ported PI's.

Having said that if they put rock rack into that advent calendar sale of theirs I think I will dip my toe into their world, as Dirk stated on facebook when it goes DSP it will be a free update!

Optimisation or no at least they're embracing the new standard and helping out us AAX DSP users so kudos to them ;-)

I also like their pricing i.e. one price for all and that's awesome.

Better sound quality always costs more DSP!

I have virtually all their plugs & use them all the time. They're one of the few companies where the native stuff seems to sound and work as well as the DSP versions. Would highly recommend...

X-mas deal of today:

PA X-mas Calendar - PLUGIN ALLIANCE - ENGLISH

I'm on the fence, since I own the DSM, which in some areas overlap the function of the dynEQ.
Any thoughts on other applications that would justify a buy?
For example, if you use it to boost the highs on a snare track, it can behave somewhat like an (inverted) gate...

Thanks,
Hakan
