Default McDsp plugins 50% off!!!

Hey guys

I was just over at McDsp and they have a crazy deal time until oct 11 with 50% off on alot o their plugins V5 and as we never used mcdsp or seen them in action I am asking you guys how good they are for 90-115 dollars as almost all of their Native singles are 50 off! They look awesome and reading the testimonials and such they appear to be top end!? All the plugins are rtas, NOT AAX though..
We have the ones listed below plus a few more but these are the ones we use so is the mcdsp, say the retro bundle as singles and or the classic alike anything for us and will they add to what we have today? Any thoughts and advice is much appreciated and thank you in advance!

(All Native Rtas and aax)

We have today:
Waves Gold
Waves vocal rider
Waves Api bundle
Waves Maserati Bundle
Waves Cla Vocal and Effect plugins
Waves SSL bundle
Waves Virtual Tape Machine ( i think it is called that)
Sound Toys V4 bundle
Slate Digital All plugins
Cytomic The Glue
Antares Autotune 7
Izotope Ozone 5
Izotope Nectar
Izotope Alloy 2
and a few more plus VI's

Thanx
Chris

I own a ton of waves stuff, and I also have mcdsp filter bank and channel g compact. I've demoed retro EQ and found it to be an excellent eq for distorted guitars. Filter bank I find also works better than others on some stuff but not so great on some. Channel G I do really like. Either as a comp or and eq. For quick mixes its a good bus comp/eq for me. They were the first 2 plugs I bought when I got pro tools in bee 7.4. And I still use them regularly. My thoughts anyway :)

That is a great De-esser very easy to use quick and great results.

I would also highly recommend to start your McDSP journey

6030 Ultimate Compressor loads of sounds very good optos
4020 Retro EQ its does feel and sound "analogue" I also like interestingly its not a clone of any specific EQ i.e. original.

Futzbox is also surprisingly usefull great fun for vocal distortions.

I'm an old fan of AC2 as well I don't think it's the most convincing tape emu but it smooths very clean crisp digital recordings pleasingly.

6030 4020 and AC2 are AAX DSP right now

I believe the rest will be soon. I'm hoping AES that'd be nice but that is just a hope and based on no knowledge.

I can't tell, will they give us the AAX versions if we buy now? I don't want to purchase now and then have to upgrade to AAX in a couple months.

Currently versions 5 includes AAX DSP upgrade when released but best to check about purchases now. Drop them an email at their website. They're very good.

You can't be talking about Colin! Apart from being the owner and the head programer, he is also a genius. Like many in the audio industry, I have the upmost respect for Colin.

Maybe you didn't get it, but Colin also has a really great sense of humour.

Hahaha

Probably Colin but I never said he is not a genius, said he is a bit eccentric and scares me but I am happy to hear that Colin and McDsp is highly regarded as a plugin programmer but still, I cant really look at the demos without raising an eyebrow or two! I know alot of genius minded people and a few runs huge businesses but they never acted like that in fronting their companies so I guess it is a matter of taste is all! I LOVE those plugins after using them just 8 hrs so I will deffinately recommend them to studios here in Stockholm!

One question though and apologies in advance if anyone is offended but that Dude in the mcdsp videos, he scAres me abit as I am investing alot of my non existing money into their plugins and of course I wanna know that I am investing in a serious company.. I re-frased this post as I saw it was a little harsh so sorry if anyone missunderstood what I meant #remindsmeofsomething #really?

Edited by me.

Thanx you guys
Chris
