Default Looping in pro tools does my head in!!!

When setting the loop markers, then pressing play and it looping for however long you need it to, when you press stop and click somewhere in the edit window, the loop markers go away and you have to reset them.

As much as I love pro tools this really annoys me, in every other DAW, logic, cubase etc even reason all those programs have a really solid loop function, you can set it, do whatever you want and it wont affect the loop mode, really how hard can it be...

any ideas?

it's not.
for starters...

a. delink timeline and edit selection

b. mem-loc selection.

c. and since pt8 is in your name you would know "restore last selection".

d. the manual is your friend...

b.o.l.

He is pointing out that there are other aspects to the problem you encountered and you should learn them all... Dynamic transport is a combination of about 3 different settings which you may not actually want/need at the same time.

Or I suppose you don't need that information?

I didn't mean to come across rude, I was just pointing out that the problem had been solved, points B and C in his post don't really do what I was looking for, point A was exactly what I wanted like the guy above mentioned.
