Why is it impossible to find downloads???

It is still an endless nightmare to find the downloads i need

1. Why is in my Avid Account no simple Link to a Download section?

I am Happy when i find in the technical alerts a dowload link for
the version i look for (in this case PT HD 10.3.2 Win) but it is
impossible to find an tech note with a link for the Avid Instrument installer!!!

It is impossible , or at least extremly good hidden, to find theese downloads within my avid account and the avid auto update function is simply not working.

Maybe a helpfull fellow may post here a link , but why is the
internet presentation from avid still so confusing and misleading?

A Simple DOWNLOADS SECTION - LINK in my AVID account is that what i am missing and a simple list of available downloads.

Took me 3 clicks from the top of this very page:

There hasn't been a new instrument installer for Windows since 10.0.0.

simple example:
go to avid.com
click support+services (where else?)
(its neither in products)
click support resources
chose type of support > updates,downloads etc. - click on it
chose Audio downloads in submenue - click on it
then pops up "Support,Prf.Serv.+Training" (why the hell this ?????)
and "search the Knowledge Base"
( I was looking for the downloads not the Knowledge base!!)
ok ok , i type in :"Avid Virtual Instruments installer"

what then pops up is a simple google search result with
hundreds of Articles but still no Download link....

typed in "downloads"... etc. endless story...

Dear Avid as much i like your software + hardware
as much is your website simply ********.

This page, or any other page of the DUC for that matter.

Right at the top, there are a bunch of links. "Pro Tools Updates" is the one I clicked. Then I clicked "Pro Tools 10 Systems" then "10.3."

Sadly a lot of people don't look at the top of forum pages so that's why the OP had problems. Then again I see the point he makes obliquely about the search function here - it's not the easiest thing to find some stuff on the various Avid sites.

I know... I just find it slightly ironic when people come here to complain about links they can't find when they are at the very top of the page.

Really, though... the top of the Avid home page should be the same. It's why I never go there. All the the links and DLs you could need are all right here.

There is no excuse for leaving all troubleshooting to the users of your product, and then go silent.
The Avid website is horrible, and it always leads back to the knowledgebase (which is full of nothingness).

Hopefully the "survey" Avid has going on their website, will improve it. But a simple "dowload" link with all versions (at least from v 7 and up) along with documents should be an easy task for a company that writes complex software like Pro-tools.

I found the downloads easily enough, but I definitely agree I shouldn't have had to go looking as far as I did.

The best way to get there is "Your Account" from this whole PT "Marketplace" menu Avid demands we all swallow. Logging in from Avid.com is a total runaround.

gotta agree here... sure we hard core users can find all we need on the forum for the most part..

why is it so damn tough to write a web page that actually makes sense!???

i' can never find anything on avid's website, seems to always be a complete waste of time whenever i browse for info on there...
