Default Neve 1073 Plugins

I've wanted a Neve 1073 Plugin ever since I've owned Pro Tools. Just from UA's reputation, I'm assuming their 1073 is the best out there. I have a $99 store credit at the Waves store and I noticed that they also have a 1073 Plug, the Scheps 73. Anyone have any experience with this? I'm about to download a bunch of Waves demos, this being one of them. I can across a site that list 14 must have Waves plugs: http://getthatprosound.com/top-14-mu...waves-plugins/. I'm gonna download all these and see what I like. It doesn't include the Scheps 73 and a couple others that I'm interested in. The Hybrid Collection seems pretty cool, from what I've read, but I only have the cash to buy one of them. The H-Delay is the one featured in the article. Just looking for some suggestions on what to check out...there are just so damn many Waves plugs out there it's a bit overwhelming. Thanks.

some stuff to consider:
The UA may well be the best, BUT, do you already have UA hardware(Apollo or one of their DSP solutions)? If not, you can't just buy the plugin as it requires UA DSP to run it. Plus, with Apollo, life is good, but with their DSP cards, the plugin(all of the UAD stuff) will have way too much latency to track with(not a problem for mixing).

Waves offers free demo's of all their stuff so feel free to give any a try.

Slate has 1073 modeling available in their VMR(virtual mix rack) and the entire lineup works very well, and with no latency.

Since you already have a Waves credit for $99, the Scheps 73 is a great deal right now. They have it on sale for $69 and if you enter the code CM30 at checkout you will get another $30 taken off for a grand total of $39.

Now take that $69 credit you will have left over and buy H-Delay (Great delay).

I just downloaded like 20 Waves plugins I plan on demoing. I wanna figure out what to buy with my $99 credit. Well $129 with that CM30 coupon!

The UAD Neve 1073 is simply stunning. I have the Waves and IK ones too, and they are excellent, but the UAD just has the extra edge (and smoothness!).

Scheps 73 is reputedly good and maybe that's the way for you to go. But if you don't need the preamp/mic emulation they also have the VEQ and VComp series, which are worth checking out. And of course you know about the UAD stuff.

If you simply want a 1073 EQ emulation Sonimus Burnley 73 enjoys a good reputation and is in your price range.

V series is pretty lame IMHO. I have used them quite a bit, as I have used the UAD 1073, 1081, 31102, 88RS, and the 33609. Demo the 31102, I think its very good and with UAs sale!! and you should have a December $25 voucher in your account! its a great deal. Also, when you buy a new UA plug in all your demos get reset. So, demo all those Neve plug ins, which are actually endorsed by Neve, FWIW, and decide which one suites your needs the best. 31102!!

I don't think the V EQs are "lame" at all.

In fact I prefer the VEQ3 to the Sheps

Get the UAD one, you'll not regret it.

I have scheps and its good but nothing like the UAD. The V series is exceedingly average in my opinion, but each to their own.

Use your Waves credit for something else
