Default PT 12.5.2 Video Engine crashes with more than 12GB of RAM

I'm running a completely unvalidated configuration, so I don't expect any troubleshooting. I was surprised when it worked the first time, and I'm even more surprised that it stopped working when I tried to upgrade my RAM to 16GB.

This is just an anecdotal data point in case anyone runs into the same issue.

On this configuration, the Video Engine works:
MacPro 1,1
OSX 10.9.5 (with EFI64 shim .kext)
PT 12.5.2
12GB RAM
PC version ATI Radeon 5770 (flashed with EFI or unflashed, makes no difference)

With 16GB or 20GB of RAM, the Video Engine has an unrecoverable error when starting.

system.log shows:
AvidVideoEngine[335]: dynamic_cast error 2: One or more of the following type_info's has hidden visibility. They should all have public visibility. 18AFileSystemLocator, 15AMacFileLocator, 12AFileLocator.

This system has been used just for editing, so the 12GB should be enough. Memory is so cheap though... End of the line for this old trooper.

I don't have an Nvidia 120GT card to test if the issue is with the EFI64 shim or the PC Radeon/ATI drivers. Drat, this computer is so old it may even be a power supply issue.

Having a video card or not makes no difference. I tested without, and with a BlackMagic card along with both Desktop Video 10.9.5 and 10.6.8.

Still, one MacPro 1,1 can still run PT 12.5.2. At your peril.
