If I had HD, I would try it....AFTER I did a full backup by cloning my system drive......

ok.. i just installed.. had 15 min between sessions. Yes, a bit scary, but between the runtime errors I've been experiencing with 8.0.3 cs2 - everything just slows the heck down and I know to save and exit - "ProTools experienced a runtime error and has to exit" and the 9031 and 9019 errors I'm getting where "dae cant keep up blah blah blah" (seems to be an issue with Structure (v1.1) - never happens when structure isnt present) , I figured, why not?

FYI:
HD6
Magma expansion PCI-x

So far session is all audio - no midi - and no probs. 60 something tracks.. oodles of plugins.. all good..

I've just installed it and had a couple of hours messing about. Haven't seen any issues apart from the initial warning about some dynamic link library problem. All that went away after a reboot though.. will report further later.
initial signs look good though. Even the Eventide reverb is working properly now :)
Anything in particular anyone would like me to check before they take the plunge?

I have HD2 system on HP XW8400 workstation with Win XP sp3. I updated from PT HD 8.0.3 cs2.
Installation hanged at the very end, during installation of HFS Mac drives support. I waited for 15 minutes and then brought up Task Manager and I terminated MacDriveD.exe process. After 1 minute PT installation finally ended.
I did not have any problem during starting of PT. But when I started opening a session there was a crash that was caused by AIR NonLin plugin. Then I tried to start PT without the Windows restart but at Initializing Hardware (DSI) Windows went down.
After restart I removed AIR Non Lin reverb from Plugins folder and session went up without any problems. In that session there is active AIR Dynamic delay and PT didn't have any problem with it. Other plugins (Sonic NoNoise, SoundToys, TL Space TDM and RTAS, Joemeek, Massey, Lexicon, Neyrinck Sound code DD, different Digidesign plugins, SSL Duende...) are working. Session also had 2 HD videos (H264 QT) imported so video engine is working fine. But I still can't stretch video window fully to the first border on my second display, but it can be done on my main display. I didn't have that problem before 8.0.3.

But there is one huge problem I still have with automation being messed up when dragging a fade at the end of the region - to the right. Automation then glide to the next automation breaking point. If the next breaking point on EQ3 7-band LP filter is 30 minutes down the timeline, EQ on every region in between on that track is altered. Of course that makes working on large sessions possibly a nightmare.

I hope this helps a bit..
