Default Whick Mic-Pre\'s are good for chaining?

I want to chain firewire Mic-Pre's to add up to maybe 24 and then Light-Pipe to my Digi 002. Which should I look at? I am wanting to record a full live session, including drums, perc, vocal, etc. Thanks

What you want is probably a eight channel mic pre with eight converters. I dont know how many there actually are out there, but be prepared to pay some serious deniros - at least its out of my league. (I would think its quite a bit more than your 002.)

If you are thinking about one or more 8 channel converters and 8 or more separate pres... you better be loaded with money.

Yes but are there any that can be chained together? The Focusrite Octipre is only $1100. but I am not sure if I can use more than one to the Digi 002. Thanks for your help.

The 001 and 002 have one lightpipe interface, and will accept one in[ut and output of up to 8 discrete signals max.

001 and 002 have a max total of 18 simultainious i/o, 8 analog and 10 digital, 8via lightpipe and 2 spdif.

If you RTFM you would know this.

Hope this is helpful.
