Default Whick do you prefer?(to connect 002 & POD)

Hi, I'm a user of digi002 and I've made my guitar track through Line 6 POD 2.0.
Until now I've used unbalanced stereo TS(1/4 inch) cable for conncction of digi002 and POD 2.0.
But I heard that all of digi002's analog inputs are balanced and balanced signal from other instruments will show better performance and quality.
So I'm gonna change the way of cable connecting.
Please answer me which you prefer of followings for cable connection of digi002 and POD 2.0.
1. Just use stereo unbalanced cable and make stereo track for guitar track.
2. Use stereo balanced cable and make stereo track for guitar track.
3. Use mono balanced cable and make mono track for guitar track.

Personally,

I use a stereo "unbalanced" feed into my 002's 3&4 inputs. The Focusrite pre's add a lot of punch and I prefer the sound this way.

Make sure you update your firmware ( a new POD version is out) as this is supposed to have some additional amp "correction" in the update.

Also, if you are interested, I started a thread at the Line6 forum about reamping using the POD 2.0 and other POD devices. Do a search for "reamping" and POD there.

Good luck.

Just use regular guitar cables(unbalanced) but keep them short(under 10'). There should be no difference in sound between inputs 1-4 as compared to 5-8. The mic pre's in the 002 are not focusrite. They are based on the circuit in the DIGIPRE. I wish the boneheads at GC would stop telling people that the 002 has focusrite pre's. I record most of my POD stuff in mono and use plugins as needed. All the stereo "cheeze-whiz" may sound cool by itself, but in the average song/mix, mono tracks panned just seems to work better for me. Doubling (playing&recording the same part twice) sounds much fatter than one stereo track. YMMV

When you plug into the quarter inch jacks (1-4) you are bypassing the mic pre.

Definitely go MONO, forget stereo. Like albee says double your tracks for a bigger sound (i.e. play them twice).
