Sonnox Supressor for me. Sounds good, and great workflow.

If the material doesn't contain TONS of ess's then I always always do it by hand. The results are much better than any de esser on the market. If you want my workflow on de essing by hand you can pm me.

Take a look at this http://www.proaudiodsp.com/
It is an optimum de-esser and it can do many other things. Try it, it's very amazing.

Yep, takes longer but is better. One of the Kenny Goila vids displays his (manual) method. I've yet to find a de-esser (hardware or plug) that really nails it.

The Eiosis E²Deesser is pretty damn good. Best one I've tried out of the lot of them.

The DYN III de-ess is actually pretty darn good. Just set the freq a lot higher than you think and use your ears. Like up as high as 12kHz. It can sound pretty close to the classic DBX 902 this way.

I find AVOX SYBIL to be the most effective of the lower-cost deessers. It blows the socks off the new McDSP and still better than the E2Esser IMO. However, I find the new Massey deesser to be even better (still in beta). Here's to hoping he get's it finished soon.

I'm totally in the Eiosis camp. Not only does it do a great job of basic sibilance control, it also has a very good eq on board that allows you to eq the split parts of the audio separately. i.e. eq the vocal minus the sibilance and eq only the sibilance. I'm not aware of any de-esser software or hardware that can do this.

The Sonox is pretty good...but even with delay comp on, the system can't deal with the latency. I had to slide the vocal manually...and it's only RTAS. Even still I think the Eiosis wins
