"Flatten" = fresh install. And yeah, all my machines hang as well on shutdown. At some point the PT HD Driver was allegedly responsible (CoreAudio stuff), but it hasn't gotten better after installing the 12.3 HD Driver, which was supposed to fix that issue, so there is definitely something else cross firing within El Cap.

Yeah, nothing but problems here running 12.3 with El Capitan. Tried it twice and it was a nightmare for me. Crashes, files not opening, PTLS not opening. Went back to 10.10.5. Thank God for Time Machine. I'll wait for another update from Avid.

No doubt! I learned that lesson the hard way in the past when I had something go belly up and I was too lazy to dig out the TM drive. I did it first before anything this time and glad I did.

By flatten I literally mean format and reinstall. Total teardown.

Fresh install of OS X10.11.1 and PT12.3.
No video, just the plugins which comes with the installer and I´m getting a lot of 9129.

I've backed up my entire OS and will take the plunge soon. I'll report back. At this time, I only have a recording project going. Tracking, a bit of editing, no mixing yet, no video or MIDI. I keep my fingers crossed and hope I'll be all right.

So, I backed up my computer using SuperDuper, installed ElCapitan over Mavericks. Updated PT to 12.3HD.
I am nor half an hour into a test-mix. So far so good. No deal-breakers yet. I've realised that option-clicking parameters in Slate's Virtual Mix Rack resets the parameter to minimum, e.g. in case of EQ to -18 instead of 0dB. Not sure if it was like that previously.

I'll report back if something unpleasant comes up.

Also note that 12.3.1 with stability fixes has been released yesterday or Monday, it currently distributes through the Avid Application Manager, should be a full download thorough your Avid account at some point later.

Yup, I am on 12.3.1 now. Works fine so far.

However, I have just realised that my computer now has issues shutting down and rebooting. This bug is already documented, it is related to the HD drivers I installed. Am just reading up on solutions...
