Default Avid HDX + Apogee Symphony 64 a good match?

Hi is there anyone here using Avid HDX and Apogee Symphony 64 together? Is there any incompatibility? Any problems found? Is the latency still .7 ms? Thanks

Assuming you're on a Mac (the Apogee Symphony 64 card won't work in a PC) you probably could have both I/O cards in the same machine at the same time but you can only use one at a time. For instance if you have the Apogee card selected as your audio I/O then you're not able to use any of the dsp features or I/O of the HDX card and vice versa if you have the HDX card as your I/O. Aggregate isn't possible in this case that I know of. But you do have access to the other features of a PT HD software install when using the Apogee card as I/O.

Now you can connect Apogee ad/da boxes to the HDX card no problem and they'll work.

I think I need to rephrase the question thanks musicman.

Does Avid HDX and Apogee Symphony I/O work together?

If you're talking about the Avid HDX card and the Apogee Symphony I/O ad/da box then as I said they will work together. Nice thing with the Symphony box is with the proper option cards you can have 32 channels analog input and 32 channels of analog output in one box. Can't do that with the Avid interfaces. And the option cards are user installable on the Apogee.

Hard to say because that figure is only with Avid's converters connected to the HDX card; you're going to have to get the latency figures from Apogee to do a comparison and they don't publish that on their website for the converters, only for the Apogee pcie interface card.
