Yep every freakin time.

Besides whoever implementing this making a mistake, given the importance of startup performance to user impressions you would also hope this would be caught in startup regression performance testing (even if it does not cause delay on most systems.... it should have been eyeballed/found using testing tools) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Do you have a reference # if I file a bug report?

Hi Will

I did not file a support case, was hoping Dominic would. Be great if you want to.

I will log a case at the weekend. It takes a while - I like to give full details, so there's not too much back and forward.

Case Number 04496592

Unbelievably, Avid still don't have drop-down options for M1 Macs.

What happened with this case? Did support open a bug for it yet?

I was given some nonsense suggestions that I didn't have time to try before writing back and explaining why they had misunderstood the problem.
The case has now been closed but I will re-open it when I get round to doing the things they suggested. I think I get 15 days.

It's pretty frustrating when they fail to actually replicate the fault themselves and instead give you pointless tasks to follow.....

My system does exactly the same idiotic thing : copying those folders from Documents (Demo Sessions ... through... Video Test Patterns). 14 folders total onto my session external HD.
How to fix it ???

PT 2022.6 on iMac 10.13.6 (27-inch late 2015, 3.2GHz, 32GB memory)
Two external HD : ProTools SessionsHD, Sound Libraries HD.
Strangely enough it does NOT copy those damn folders onto Sound Libraries HD.
Only onto Pro Tools Sessions HD.

After I delete those folders, the next time I start my session it copies those folders again !!!
Is it a bug ?

I explain clearly how to work around this stupid behavior in this very thread you are reading.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Awful performance from Avid Support. I have never seen such a group of support people so focused on just closing bugs. If in doubt close the bug and run and hide.
