Default Best Magazine for Hobby/Semi-Pro Home Studio Info?

What are your favorite mags for all things related to home studio use at the hobby or semi-pro level? I'm talking about something with reviews of hardware/software/instruments, tips, tutorials, shootouts, interviews, etc. So far, I'm not seeing much...

What do you read?

Tape-op you cannot go wrong with free! and the articles actually have meat, as opposed to articles geared toward selling the latest big thing!

2 cents,
ken;

I too love Tape Op, but are you sure about bi monthly? It seems like I get one every couple months. Anyone know for sure?

The ones I like and read regularly;

Sound on Sound
Computer Music
Future Music
Music Tech

I'd say in that order too (best to worst).

I find EQ, Electronic Musician, and Keyboard mag to be somewhat poor (at least comparative to the above), though out of those three I'd say that EM is the better one.

tape op, hands down.

even better, buy the tape op book.

even better than that, subscribe
to tape op so they can grow and offer
a true alternative in music rag publishing.

I just moved and will PAY them for a real
subscription as long as they keep doing
what they do so darn well. this coming from
a self employed (read: underemployed)
small biz person.

my two cents.
