Windows Remote Desktop

Hi All,
I just moved all my machines out of the control room and into a machine room. Great upgrade. Noise, Heat, networking all so much better.

I need a KVM extension system now. The first system I tested is Windows RDT. RDT is working so much better than I ever expected it to. I feel like I'm directly connected the DAW. 2 minor issues

Pro Tools desktop video isn't great. I am getting some dropped frames over the RDT connection. I kind of expected this and am running fiber HDMI connection in a few days to fix that. j

Next issue is scrubbing. I think RDT is going some magic to make you feel like you are al the remote PC. Probably trying to extract your mouse movements without actually transmitting all of them. Scrubbing is laggy and slow over RDT. I am just going to use my jog wheel to scrub from now on.

Hope this helps someone considering a machine room for all the noisy gear.
