Default Considering KOMPLETE 8 Ultimate but $1000??

Hello everyone,

I am looking to expand my virtual instruments a little and need some help and suggestions. My setup is as follows: MPC2500, ASR10 (used only as midi controller) Reason 4, Pro Tools 8 and the couple of synths that came with PT. I Currently produce a lot of rap/hiphop music, but really wanna start moving in the pop and r&b arena. With all that being said, what should I get??!?!??!!

IMO, K8 Ultimate sort of overshadows the vastness of K8 and is about the only thing out there right now that beats K8. I think K8 is more than enough for what you want to do and it is half the price.

I've owned Absynth and Kontakt since they were first released. I moved to Komplete at v6. When 8 came out, I just looked at what the additional benefits of Ultimate were and it made sense for me. Of course, I was just upgrading and I was able to use a $100 off coupon at Gtr Ctr, so it was only $400.

I agree with spenner that it is the most complete package out there (that I know of anyway). For me Kontakt is the best sampler out there with MachFive being a close second (don't have v3 yet). Komplete covers just about every base, especially given what you say you want to use it for. I also agree that for most the regular v8 is fine. The Ultimate package for the most part just adds sound libraries, although Razor is a cool Additive synth that is only in Ultimate.

This comparison chart helped me make my decision.

So I was under the impression that you didn't a string selection in K8 only Ultimate?
