Hey guys,
Random problem last night doing ghost tracks for the band I'm working with. The click timing is reversed. What I mean is that, if I switch it to 1/8 notes, it plays every 1/2 note, and if I switch it to 1/16 notes, it plays at 1/1 notes. I'm not sure if there is a setting, or if it's just PT or what....any thoughts? I mean, its fine because I needed 1/8 notes so I just switched it to 1/2.....but I shouldn't have to do that....I should be able to set it to 1/8 and have it click at 1/8...... Any help is greatly appreciated!

How can such an obvious flaw be just "passed over" by Avid? Like, IMHO this makes them look incompetent because it's so blatantly obvious that it's supposed to be the other way around....no matter what way you look at it...it's wrong....I mean its not detrimental to the workflow, but definitely a PITA.

How, exactly, are you setting the value of the click? Something definitely doesn't sound right about that.
It sounds like you might be confusing Tempo Resolution with Click Resolution.

Changing the tempo of the song, and setting the note value in there. I change the grid for what i need it depending on the section of the song.

Yeah, you're confusing tempo resolution, with click resolution.
Try changing the meter of the song, but don't actually change the meter, change the click resolution from within there. ![]()

Yeah...
Tempo Resolution is basically the BPM of the song. It sets the beat note value. So if you set the beat note value to 1/8, and the click resolution is still set to 1/4, the click will slow down (as it should). However, if you set the click resolution instead, you will actually be changing just the click resolution. 1/4 = one click every 1/4 note. 1/8 = one click every 1/8 note. See, they really aren't incompetent; they just want you to read the manual... ![]() ![]() ![]()
