In reference to our S6 M40:


Will this update fix the wave form display? When recording the display scrolls correctly for a bout 15 seconds, then it freezes. Looks like a buffer issue?


I'm on 19.12.1.23 and PT 2019.12

When recording multiple tracks, the display progressively fills with the red recording back ground color, then the actual wave form "loops". The workstation is normal.


During my test today, it took 2 minutes to lock up.



And during a 4 track overdub the display was normal.

Can you change the Waveform update speed and see if that helps ?

I changed the waveform zoom prefs in the S6 from :40 to :10 and set the HW buffer to 1024 samples. All was good for a 4 minute test. Retested with HW buffer set to 512 samples and the display locked up after 2 minutes. I'll do more testing next week.

Where are the waveform redraw/update speed preferences?

Its the zoom prefs you say you already changed. We do know if its too fast there can be issues keeping up. Also don't zoom in too much in PT either.

I ran a few more tests over the weekend. The looping waveform happened no matter how long the zoom prefs were set. No difference between 512 and 1024 samples in PT HWB settings. I was tracking a 32 channel session.
