Any PT rumors?

just checking to see what rumors or truths are out there as far as changes/upgrades coming to PT. I just built my i7 and was looking at upgrading to an HD system. But I have SOOOOOOO much power now, why do I need it. I mean if I am going to do a major label project, I would just do the production at home and go to a full blown studio to lay down vocals. And even then "Push It" by Salt and Pepa was recorded in a bathroom.

So what rumors are out there because at this point, I just can't see the need for HD if you have an i7 system!!!!!

Rumors be damned(after all, they are rumors). Nothing you hear will be any more than someone's speculations. If your system does all you need, I see no reason to "upgrade" to HD(is it really an upgrade?) unless you really need 192K sample rates. The only reason I would go to a "full blown" studio would be to record an acoustic kit in a great room. Great vocals can be done in a well-treated bedroom. Its about the voice>acoustics>microphone>preamp>converter(and maybe a compressor somewhere in there)............what part of that are you missing in your place? Enjoy all that power. I know I do

Yup. Regardless of any rumors, the fact of the matter remains that you have "answered your own question." What difference does it make? If you need more than 18 inputs at a time, are you going to be able to record whatever that is in the space you have at home? Why would you need HD to lay down vocals? Is a "full blown studio" going to make you sing better? You can incorporate outboard gear into an Mbox setup to have as much fidelity as anywhere else for those purposes...So, yes, if money is an issue at all, why would you buy an ancient proprietary DSP card with less processing power than your cell phone when you could buy a car or send your kid to college instead?
