THE OS THE OS THE OS ..............WINDOZE DOES NOT WORK...I used windoze for years that's why I use Mac now. None of them have the performance of the Enterprise (Star Treck) System What OS is that? THATS WHAT I WANT IN AN OS.
Up the meds a bit. You're talking gibberish.

One fact that I noticed with some frequency. When I ask a Mac user why they don't like Windows, besides the gates bashing they complain about many issues. When I ask what system they had they say 98, 95, 2000. Most have never tried XP.
Well let us all remember that everyone's rig is different if only mildly. people have different hardware within both pc and mac platforms with different apps and files on the many different drives out there. as to windows, i've seen XP popup a plethora of "xxxxx performed an illegal action and wil blah blah blah. MY mac has NEVER crashed yet!!! (aside from running out of CPU in a DAVEC test) i have been using mac since 84 and PC before that and had way more problems and bios crap to deal with on the pc. i love how heated some people get on this debate.

Drink Boone's Farm wine. Sleep on a twin mattress on the floor. Yes sir. Get all the bang for your buck you can. That's what it's all about - - more bang for your buck."

Really it's all about performance. Period.
So, go ahead and spend 3 grand on a Mac. They perform well.
Or spend a third of that on an Allenstein. They perform well too.

So here's a parting thought:

"Yeah, get a PC instead of a Mac. Eat bologna. Buy your CDs in the 99¢ bin. Shop at K-Mart. Drive a 1989 Geo. Get a 13" Zenith TV. Play a $75 guitar. Use a Studio Projects mic. Cut your own hair. See. Just more Mac snobbery.

You are probably one of theose guys that buy specila $500,- volume knobs, and $5000,- gold cable for your Hi-Fi system becasue it cuts down on distortion.
No, not quite. Just Schoeps, Gefell, Pendulum, Lavry, Hardy, Dynaudio, Apple gear. It's not snobbery. It's called having the money to buy the good stuff, [bleep].

Really, this needs to stop.

They're computers... calculators that help us do our jobs.
I posted my my biased opinion to this thread nearly a month ago
and now feel rather childish for doing so.

Let's not clutter these forums like this
and focus more on the art at hand.
Surely, that benefits us more.

Sorry, but comparinghigh quality crafted microphones and speakers to a bunch of chips assembled in Taiwan in the same factory as PC's, doens't hold much water.

I have the mnoney as well. But prefer not to waste it.

Nonsense. The only computers I've seen that have never crashed, are the ones that have never been turnesd on.
BTW, I have never seen the ""xxxxx performed an illegal action and wil blah blah blah" you talk about on any of my XP machines.
I have pushed the sofwtqare way too hard, to make it crash.

Macs offers less haggles and a much greater deal of efficiency.

ha ha ha, AMD's rules right now....and I have a P4. But anyway. Mac was the start of a very efficent audio computer or graphics computer if you count that, but windows systems are up to par nowadays. both systems run great. Only that Mac still has a few more Plug-ins available, but the gap is small and closing fast. so in a few years, when mac is MAC-in-TEL there might still be a debate even when MAC is running Window Vista as its o.s.
