Synch with PT 5.1 / PM9600

Is somebody having success while synching PT 5.1 to audio time code through OMS /FreeMidi /ClockWorks /MTPII? Pro Tools freezes often when we sync to tape, while we have no problem with Digital Performer on the same machine. The main difference is that DP does not use OMS and syncs with DTle instead of Midi Time Code. The option is a USD but it is too expensive.

Set-up:
PowerMac 9600 /300mHz-256M
MidiTimePiece II / Video Slave Driver
MacOs 9.1/PT5.1
OMS 2.3.8 /FreeMidi 1.45
ClockWorks 1.0.7
