Default Session buffer issues
Ever since I installed sonar works software when, I open a session, it sounds all slow and skips. So I figured out it was the hardware buffer size needed to be changed. Every time I would open a project or even the same one, I would have to change the buffer size from 1gig to 512 or 512 to 1gig. Sooooo, I completely uninstalled sonar works, buuuuuuut, I am still having the same issue. Any ideas what's going on. Thanks

What buffer size are you talking about? There is no setting in Pro Tools that goes from 512 to "1 gig". You mean the H/W buffer size going from 512 samples to 1024 samples?

Go into Windows Sound Properties and look at the default playback device. Its probably set to the Audient and needs to be set to the onboard sound card(Realtek?). Right now, Windows is taking control of the interface settings and locking you(and Pro Tools) out from changing the sample rate

I am using the Apollo interface, but I'll check to see if something is off in Windows. Thanks

Aha, the Audient is the first interface I saw, but the solution is the same. Pro Tools needs 100% control over whichever interface you want to use with PT.

Alright, it's not the buffer size it's the cache size that I have to keep changing.duh sorry

I don't know. This white boy grew up on (shark infested) Australian beaches, and loves southern Florida... would move to Miami in a heartbeat.
