Default Support plan renewal

Hi,
I've just come up for my first support plan renewal, so I paid a few days ago. All fine and it shows in my Avid account - and in the annoying Application Manager. On my iLok though it still shows the original expiry date, I've refreshed (many times) the license as that's what I guess you have to do (can't see any instructions anywhere) but nothing changes

Do I need to start panicking? As with many of us on this forum I'm using this system professionally and can't afford to have it out of action whilst it gets sorted out - sorry if that sounds like premature criticism but I've been reading several threads with people having trouble with all of this new licensing/support plan system.

Thanks,
Pete

How soon does your plan run out? If I remember correctly you wont get a new iLok license right away after renewing, but before your old one expires. Also, if you've bought a perpetual license (not monthly or yearly subscription), then you can run PT forever with that license.

Hi Joel,
It runs out today, that's why I thought something would appear on the iLok today. I'm on 12HD perpetual product so I guess Pro Tools itself won't stop working, the included plugins might? Cloud stuff might (not remotely bothered about that!). I'm probably ok, just want to know it's sorted rather than realise a few weeks down the line that it isn't.

Thanks,
Pete

Perhaps related to this: http://duc.avid.com/announcement.php?f=142

In any case, might want to reach out to Avid.

What specifically did you renew, because there are some differences..

If you're running PT HD, then you only have one renewal option, that includes support and the plugins: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PTHDAUPExt

If you're running PT "vanilla" then you have two separate things you could renew:

Annual Upgrade Plan: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PTAUPExt - Gives you access to new versions of Pro Tools for 1 year. This will NOT need a new iLok license.
Annual Plugin and Support Plan: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PTplugSupp - Gives you access to support and the plugins you've mentioned. This will need a new iLok license.

Hi Joel,
Thanks, I've bought the right thing (the first one) as I bought it from within my Avid account and it was the only option.

Rich - I have two 12.6HD licenses, one for my D-Control HDX2 rig and the other one for my laptop - thanks for answering but I managed to get to 12.6HD successfully without too much trouble, I think I was lucky there at least!

Thanks,
Pete

Not related to the 12.6 release, I think you're referring to your Pro Tools HD Plan license (which is for the bonus plug-ins). That gets renewed around the start of the new term as described here. I'll keep an eye on yours since your new term started today.

Hi Jeffro thanks. Is that all the HD Plan is, just the extra plugins? I thought it was to do with keeping the HD license itself up to date for new versions. Ok, not so worried at all then.

Cheers,
Pete

Yes, the Pro Tools HD Plan license just authorizes the bonus plug-ins included with a Pro Tools HD Upgrade and Support Plan.

Update:
Pro Tools is now warning me my plan is about to run out (today!) - even though it isn't, I've renewed it. Keep trying 'Refresh' on the iLok Manager, no joy.

I know you're helping jeffro - and thank god you are as this whole new system is a shambles.

Pete
