Default updating older sessions?

HI,
i have an external read/write hard drive with sessions saved in 5.2 format from my old g4 tower 001 setup.

I now have a macbook pro / 003 setup on LE 8 & i wish to update & save the older sessions into 8 format.

My concern is how best to do this.. I assume that i would open the 5.2 files from the old read/write drive in LE8 & then save them to another different drive.. but how do i make sure all the audio files are copied across with the updated session? (so that i know it is then safe to erase the older drive & start it off fresh...of course backing up the 5.2 sessions to dvd first..)

thankyou

Default Re: updating older sessions?

Once you open the older sessions, choose File>Save Session Copy> and make certain you check the box for "copy all audio files". Once you have saved your new versions, un-mount the old drive and try running the new versions. If they all open and play fine, then you are safe to reformat the old drive. If the old sessions don't want to open in PT8, it could be a plugin issue. In that case, try holding the Shift key while opening an old session. This will disable all the plugins.
